Education Programs

JMOF-FIU offers engaging learning opportunities for universities, public schools, private schools, and youth groups. Education programs feature several activities focused on content areas such as Florida history and the visual arts.   • Schools and Youth Programs

    Museum Tours introduce students to the many histories and cultures intersecting at the Museum. Students learn through art activities, facilitated exploration, primary source analysis, and presentations. 

    Virtual Tours bring the Museum’s stories to students otherwise unable to visit. Students learn through virtual word clouds, puzzles, open-ended questions, presentations, and other interactive learning tools available through Kahoot!EDU. 

  • Jewish Institutions

    Museum Tours offer students the opportunity to explore the intersection of Jewish heritage, history, and culture. Students learn through art activities, facilitated exploration, primary source analysis, and presentations. 

    Virtual Tours bring the Museum’s stories to students otherwise unable to visit. Students learn through virtual word clouds, puzzles, open-ended questions, presentations, and other interactive learning tools available through Kahoot!EDU. 

  • Colleges and Universities

    Museum Tours empower visitors to tackle big questions at the intersections of migration, religion,architecture, history, and community art. Visitorsengage complexity through presentations, primary source analysis, break-out discussions, and reflection activities.

    How long do programs last? Education programs last between 1-2 hours. 

    When can I schedule a program? In-person programming is available Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Virtual programming is available daily from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. 

    How much do programs cost? Student admission for education programs is discounted to only $2.50 per student.  Educator admission is complementary. One (1) chaperone for the first ten (10) students does not need to pay admission. Additional chaperone admission is discounted to only $10 per chaperone. Educators will receive an invoice after completing the Program Reservation Form. 

    Can our students eat lunch at the museum? Unfortunately, JMOF-FIU does not have a dining facility. Marjory Stoneman Douglas Ocean Beach Park and South Pointe Park are both ideal for picnicking and within walking distance of the museum. Depending on the museum’s visitor capacity that day, students might be able to have lunch at the benches in the main exhibit building. 

    Do you offer transportation? Unfortunately, JMOF-FIU does not currently budget for transportation scholarships. 

Scheduling

  • Education Programs last about 1-2 hours.
