Education Overview

The Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU is the ideal institution for students of all ages, backgrounds, and interests to learn and explore. We organize programs for public schools, Jewish schools, college groups, youth programs, and others seeking to engage with our unique collections.

Housed in an architectural marvel designed with Art Deco and Mediterranean Revival influences, our museum inspires visitors just as much through the beauty of our facility as through our curated exhibits.

Our main exhibition, MOSAIC Reimagined, reflects the unique intersections of Atlantic, U.S., Latin American, Floridian, and Jewish histories and cultures which have left their mark on Florida and Miami Beach. The Hate Around Us exhibition represents the complicated history of antisemitism and other forms of discrimination in Florida, revealing their historic and global roots, and inspiring us to challenge the hate which continues in Florida today.

Through November 3, the Operation Moses exhibition conveys the exodus of Beta Israel Jews from Ethiopia to Israel in the 1980s, juxtaposed with photographs of the Jewish community which remains in Ethiopia to this day. On October 30, we’re welcoming Steve Marcus and his series of motorcycle artwork which fuses Jewish philosophy with hot rod culture. On November 18, we’re adding to the gallery the art and sculptures of Eric Finzi, whose Italian grandparents escaped the Holocaust through the heroism of photojournalist Ruth Gruber.
