Teen Docent Program
The Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU Offers Teens an Exciting Opportunity to Train as Docents this Summer!
What: A docent is a tour guide who takes people through the museum and helps them learn about the exhibits on display. As a Teen Docent you will give tours to other teens and visitors from all over the world..
Who: Students in grades 8 and above, who enjoy public speaking and have an interest in Jewish history, art and culture. You don't have to have any special knowledge, just a willingness to learn!
When & Where: You will attend our 3 two-hour training sessions at the museum this summer. (Dates & Times TBD) Upon completion, you will show off your skills during a special Museum Open House on Sunday, November 20. We welcome you to continue to docent during the school year, as your schedule permits.
As a Teen Docent you will:
• Receive community service hours
• Develop leadership and public speaking skills
• Earn great experience for college & job applications
• Receive a one-year family membership to the museum
Who We Are: The exhibits at the Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU tell stories about families like yours! We are located in two historic art deco style former synagogues on Miami Beach.
