Teen Docent Program

The Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU offers students a unique opportunity to train as volunteer docents. Docents serve as tour guides for museum visitors from all over the world.

Our Teen Docent Program is perfect for anyone in grade 8 or higher seeking to earn community service credit, professional experience in a museum setting, exposure to arts and cultural events and a chance to collaborate with other South Florida teens. Participants do not need any special knowledge, just a willingness to learn and an interest in public speaking.

Participants will attend our 3 two-hour training sessions at the museum. (Dates & Times TBD) Upon completion, they will show off their “docenting” skills during the year as their schedule permits.

Teen Docents earn community service hours, develop leadership and public speaking skills, obtain great experience for college & job applications and receive a one-year family membership to the museum. For information call Chaim Lieberperson at 786-972-3187 or email: clieberp@fiu.edu.
