Summer Matinee Series: FOREIGN CORRESPONDENT

In partnership with Miami Jewish Film Festival, JMOF-FIU presents a three-part series of films featured in the movie posters on view in the current exhibition, CINEMA JUDAICA: The War Years, 1939-1949. FOREIGN CORRESPONDENT (United Artists, 1940) was nominated for six Academy Awards including Best Picture. This critically acclaimed international spy drama was so timely in its day that it ends with the onset of the Battle of Britain. In the midst of the German aerial bombardment of London, the hero American newspaper reporter broadcasts to his countrymen declares that they are the last bastion of democracy left in the world.
