In over fifty books, Elie Wiesel has endeavored to counter the enveloping fire of the Holocaust with the visionary fire of the Jewish tradition. This lecture, by Dr. Alan Rosen, International School for Holocaust Studies, Yad Vashem, will explore his teaching on becoming a “soul on fire.” Alan Rosen is coeditor of Elie Wiesel: Jewish, Literary, and Moral Perspectives and author of Sounds of Defiance: The Holocaust, Multilingualism, and the Problem of English and The Wonder of Their Voices: The 1946 Holocaust Interviews with David Boder.
